Speed Versus Control

Surely a great shot isn’t just about swing speed or velocity?

A good club-head speed is just one of the many ingredients that make you hit the ball longer and straighter. Hitting the ball hard is one thing, but how sweet you hit it makes a massive difference too! And of course, you may just want to aim for a specific target at a set distance.

Swing speed is no less important here too. Swing tempo tends to deteriorate even more rapidly for short game shots (where club deceleration is endemic).
